Dear friends, happy Easter to all of you!
We look forward to meeting you next Summer and thank you beforehand for your help throughout the year. We truly
cherish your friendship and support and we are so proud to have such good friends and collaborators in England.
During this Easter time, our thoughts and prayers go to those who are no more with us, both in Italy and England,
knowing they are looking after us from above.
Let their memory be an example to all of us and one more reason for us to renew our commitment to TGS.
In loving memory of Jennifer Whittell,
TGS School Agent, Coulsdon
Jennifer Whittell a Home-Start volunteer sadly passed away on Tuesday 21st February. This was a huge shock to her family as Jenny thought she had a virus which lasted for over 3 weeks. After blood tests it was discovered she had cancer of the Pancreas and died very shortly after diagnosis.
Jenny was passionate about Home-Start and visited two families a week, giving many extra hours to a particular family as the mother herself was receiving treatment for cancer. This family has said; “Jenny was like a shining light in their lives and she always bought the household alive with her visits”.
Jenny’s husband James Whittell had taken on the role of Chairman for Home-Start East Surrey and sadly resigned his post to care for Jenny in her last weeks.
